Fixed
- The info (i) buttons on the diagnostics pages open their explanation popup again. Once the page had been left and returned to, tapping them did nothing at all
- iPhone and iPad only: Opening a page that shows a list, and returning to your car while the datalogger is running, no longer freeze the app on a blank screen
- iPhone and iPad only: The top of the screen no longer flashes white and drops the title bar into place when you start or leave the datalogger
Added
- Restored the fast connection to MG Flasher servers for users in mainland China
- You can now choose the app's language – English, 中文 (Chinese) or Türkçe (Turkish) – from a picker on the login screen and in Settings; the new language applies after you restart the app. Until you pick one, the app follows your device's display language when it is one of the supported languages, and uses English otherwise
Changed
- A command your car refuses is now reported as a failure instead of appearing to have worked
- A reading from your car can no longer be reported under the wrong name when its control unit asks for more time to answer
- The datalogger now stops with a connection message when it cannot read the VIN to confirm the car, instead of retrying forever while appearing to run
- Users in mainland China now stay on the fast connection to MG Flasher servers when they log in with email, not only with an SMS code
- Added a Back button on the support page, so you can leave it instead of being stuck there
- Pressing Back from a page that always returns you to one fixed screen no longer makes the next Back press skip a screen
- Permission changes made by an admin now reach your app during a normal sync, usually within the hour, instead of only after you sign out and back in
- The page you are leaving now slides away when you go back, which adds about a quarter of a second to each step back
- When you have remembered accounts, the login page leads with the one you used last and folds the rest behind "See more", and the email and password fields fold away behind a "Sign in with email" button alongside Google and Apple. Nothing is hidden if you have no remembered accounts: the form is then the only way in, so it stays open
- Your remembered accounts now sit in their own panel on the login page rather than loose on the background, so removing one shrinks the panel instead of rearranging the page around it
- On a device with no Windows Hello, fingerprint or screen lock, the offer to remember an account now says so: the account can still be remembered, but anyone who can use the device will be able to sign in with one tap. Devices that can confirm it is you are unchanged
- The Settings item in the side menu now shows a gear icon instead of the user icon
- The About page no longer shows the menu button twice
- Switching between the tabs on your car page no longer flicks through the tabs in between
- The pages you use most are now prepared in the background while you use the app, so they open faster when you reach them
- Going back is much faster (around half a second down to under a tenth) and keeps your scroll position and what you had on screen
- Improved page changes to be smoother (no blank gap, and a loading animation on pages that take longer to open)
- Switching between tabs on My Car now cross-fades instead of cutting over, and no longer flashes other tabs on the way
- The custom options page opens faster: your car's saved settings are now loaded while you pick a version
- The options page is now prepared for every version in the list, not just when flashing a stage, so it opens quickly whichever one you pick
- The car list no longer stalls while a car is waiting to sync
- A problem on our server while your car syncs no longer leaves the car unusable, and only the datalogger's parameter list waits for the next sync
- Android, iPhone and iPad: The menu button is back, so you can open the side menu again instead of being stuck on the page you started on
- Android only: Remembering an account works on Android too. The sign-in token is kept in app-private storage, wrapped by a key held in the device keystore, so it never leaves the phone and no other app can read it. Tapping a remembered account asks for your fingerprint, face or device lock first, where one is set up
- Android only: The "Show all" button on the Custom Code version selection page works again. Since 489 it did nothing, so only the newest Custom Code version could be picked and older versions could not be reached
- iPhone and iPad only: Remembering an account works on iPhone and iPad, kept in the keychain on that device only and unlocked with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode
- Windows only: Fixed app opening too big for the screen on small laptops
- Windows only: The login page follows the window instead of stretching to it. On a wide window it settles into a centred column rather than running the account rows across the screen, on a narrow one it no longer pushes the sign-in buttons off the side, and on a short one the logo gives up room before the content does. Hovering a remembered account brings out the control that removes it
- Windows only: After you sign in, the app can offer to remember the account on that PC. Next time it is one tap on your email instead of typing your password again, which matters after a reinstall or on a machine where the app was replaced. Your password is never saved, only the sign-in token the app already holds, and it is kept for your Windows user alone. You choose per account, you can say no and not be asked again, and you can remove a remembered account from the list at any time
- Windows only: The screen no longer flashes black between pages
