Two Driving Scenarios.

Anti-Lag temporarily changes engine control behaviour to build intake and exhaust pressure before acceleration. MG Flasher supports both stationary and rolling use cases on compatible configurations, with simple and expert settings available for tuning activation, boost response and safety limits.

Anti-Lag intentionally increases thermal and mechanical load. It should be configured by a knowledgeable tuner, used infrequently and operated only where local law and the vehicle environment allow it.

Stationary Anti-Lag

Hold the rocker, press the throttle and let engine speed rise to the configured standing target. Release the rocker when ready to launch.

Ignition Cut

Ignition Cut can create a more aggressive event with significant timing retard, exhaust pressure and possible backfire. It places greater stress on the engine, turbo and exhaust system.

Activation Workflow

From Ready
to Launch.

MG Flasher uses the cruise-control rocker and configurable Custom Code settings to control the Anti-Lag event.

Stop the Vehicle

Remain below the configured speed threshold used to identify a stationary launch.

Hold Far Down

Hold the cruise-control rocker in the far-down position until the Check Engine Light blinks quickly.

Apply Throttle

Keep holding the rocker and press the throttle so engine speed rises toward the configured launch RPM.

Release to Launch

Release the rocker when ready. Anti-Lag ends and the vehicle accelerates.

Choose Speed & Gear

Move to the desired rolling speed and select a gear that keeps RPM within the configured operating window.

Hold Far Down

Hold the cruise-control rocker in the far-down position until the Check Engine Light blinks quickly.

Build Boost

Press the throttle beyond the configured activation point while the rocker remains held.

Release to Accelerate

Release the rocker to leave the Anti-Lag event and begin the rolling acceleration.

Live Control & Custom Code Menu

On compatible Custom Code, Live Control provides a standing Anti-Lag RPM slider from 1,500 to 6,000 RPM in 100 RPM increments. The same standing setpoint can also be adjusted through the Custom Code Menu on supported vehicles.

Emergency Shutdown Logic

Protection Limits
End the Event Early.

If a configured safety boundary is exceeded, Anti-Lag can stop, require the driver to release the throttle and temporarily reduce boost pressure until conditions return within range.

Anti-Lag remains unavailable when the engine is colder than the configured minimum.

When Emergency Mode Activates

Boost is relieved and the last shutdown reason can be logged.

MG Flasher can temporarily open the electronic wastegate, reduce performance and expose the “Custom Code: Anti-Lag Shutdown Reason” parameter for troubleshooting.

Anti-Lag is not a universal toggle. It requires a compatible tune, enabled Custom Code settings and a vehicle operating inside configured safety boundaries.

The connected ECU must support a Custom Code version that includes Anti-Lag functionality.

What is MG Flasher Anti-Lag?

MG Flasher Anti-Lag is a Custom Code feature that can build boost before a stationary or rolling launch by temporarily changing engine-control behaviour on compatible vehicles.

What is the difference between stationary and rolling Anti-Lag?

Stationary mode targets a configured launch RPM while the vehicle is stopped. Rolling mode is activated while the vehicle is moving within tuner-defined speed and RPM conditions.

Which vehicles officially support Anti-Lag?

Current MG Flasher documentation lists official support for compatible F- and G-Series B58 vehicles. Exact availability depends on ECU software, Custom Code and calibration.

Does Anti-Lag support B48 vehicles?

B4x support is listed as available by custom-tuner request only. It should not be assumed to be present in every B48 OTS map or software version.

What is the difference between Fuel Cut and Ignition Cut?

Fuel Cut was introduced as a lower-stress method and does not create flame effects. Ignition Cut is more aggressive, available on B58 and can produce backfire while increasing thermal and mechanical stress.

Can I adjust the Anti-Lag RPM from the app?

Yes, where Live Control and compatible Custom Code are available. The standing setpoint can be adjusted from 1,500 to 6,000 RPM in 100 RPM increments.

Why does the Custom Code Menu show Anti-Lag at 4K RPM?

The 4K position identifies the Anti-Lag submenu in the Custom Code Menu. It is a menu position, not automatically the selected standing launch RPM.

What safety limits can stop Anti-Lag?

Configured minimum or maximum coolant temperature, maximum exhaust-gas temperature, maximum intake-air temperature, over-boost and maximum duration can end the event.

Can Anti-Lag damage the vehicle?

Anti-Lag intentionally adds heat, pressure and mechanical load and may damage the engine, turbo or exhaust if used or configured improperly. Use it infrequently, only on suitable hardware and according to tuner guidance.
