Overview

Ready-Made Maps for Supported Setups.

OTS means Off-The-Shelf. Each MG Flasher OTS map is prepared for a defined engine platform, stage, fuel quality and supported hardware configuration. The app displays only the maps available for the connected vehicle and ECU software.

OTS maps are intended for repeatable, clearly defined setups. They are different from Custom Flash files, which are created individually by an independent tuner around a specific vehicle and modification list.

What Defines an OTS Map
01

Engine PlatformThe calibration must match the supported engine and ECU generation.

02

Stage & HardwareThe required hardware depends on the selected performance stage.

03

Fuel QualitySelect the calibration intended for the fuel actually used in the vehicle.

Performance Stages

Choose the Stage That Matches the Vehicle.

Stage availability, output and hardware requirements vary by engine, generation, fuel and map version.

Stage 1

Stock or Near-Stock Hardware

Designed for supported vehicles using compatible factory or near-stock hardware. Stage 1 focuses on improving performance while retaining a smooth, usable power delivery.

  • Matched to a supported engine and ECU
  • Available for selected fuel grades
  • Exact output depends on the platform
Stage 2.5

Advanced Fuel-System Setup

Available only on selected platforms. Stage 2.5 may require an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, compatible exhaust hardware and the correct in-app hardware selection.

  • Not available for every engine or vehicle
  • Upgraded HPFP may be mandatory
  • Confirm all requirements before selection
Power figures are vehicle-specific. Use the relevant Engine or Vehicle Page to review supported stages, fuels and verified output for the exact platform.
Fuel Selection

Flash the Map for the Fuel in the Tank.

Supported OTS packages may include calibrations for different octane or RON levels. The selected fuel file becomes the calibration flashed to the vehicle, so the fuel in the tank must meet the map requirement.

Some compatible OTS packages may also provide additional fuel or ethanol choices through Switchable Maps. Slot availability and contents depend on the exact map package, Custom Code version and platform.

Both options use MG Flasher, but they are built for different levels of vehicle modification and individualisation.

App Workflow

From Compatibility Check to Installed Map.

The app guides the user through vehicle support, licensing, map selection and flashing.

01Support

Connect and Check Support

Connect the vehicle and let MG Flasher identify the ECU, software and available map stages.

02License

Activate the Flashing License

A valid VIN-locked Flashing License is required before flashing an OTS map.

03Selection

Choose Stage and Fuel

Select only the stage, octane level and options appropriate for the vehicle setup.

04Preparation

Prepare the Vehicle

Follow the battery, ignition, connection and electrical-load requirements before starting.

05Flash

Flash and Complete the Cycle

Keep the connection stable, wait for success and follow the required ignition cycle.

Licensing

Flashing License + OTS Map.

A Flashing License activates flashing for one vehicle and is locked to its VIN. OTS maps are then purchased for that supported vehicle, either individually or as an available map package.

The license also enables diagnostics and Custom Flash. The original stock calibration is retained so the vehicle can be returned to stock through the app when required.

01

Flashing License

VIN-locked access that allows repeated flashing of the assigned supported vehicle.

02

Individual OTS Map

Purchase an available Stage 1, Stage 2 or other supported map for the vehicle.

03

Full OTS Map Pack

Where offered, one package can include all available OTS maps for the assigned VIN.

04

Stock File

The original calibration remains available for supported stock restoration workflows.

Map Updates

Updates Delivered Through the App.

When MG Flasher is connected to the internet, the app can synchronise available map information. If an updated file is available for a purchased map, the app can download the current version before flashing.

Release availability depends on the exact vehicle, ECU software and map package. An update for one platform does not imply that the same version exists for every other engine or generation.

Update Flow
01

Connect to the InternetAllow the app to synchronise account and map data.

02

Open the Available StageSelect the purchased stage and fuel file.

03

Download the Current FileThe app retrieves the available update before flashing.

Compatibility

Confirm the Complete Setup Before Purchasing.

Map availability is determined by the connected vehicle, ECU software, unlock status, hardware and fuel.

01

Supported Engine & ECU

The engine platform and software version must have an available MG Flasher calibration.

02

Required ECU Unlock

The app identifies whether the DME can be activated in-app or requires an external unlock service.

03

Correct Hardware

Stage-specific hardware must be installed and in good operating condition before flashing.

04

Correct Fuel

The fuel in the tank must meet the requirement of the selected octane or ethanol calibration.

Always use Check Support first. Downloading the app and connecting to the vehicle is the most reliable way to confirm the currently available stages, ECU unlock requirement and map files before purchasing.
FAQ

MG Flasher OTS Maps FAQ.

Common questions about stages, fuel, hardware, licenses and map availability.

What is an OTS map?

An OTS map is a prepared calibration for a defined supported engine, ECU, stage, fuel and hardware configuration. It is selected and flashed through the MG Flasher app.

Which OTS stages are available?

Stage 1 and Stage 2 are available on selected supported platforms, while Stage 2.5 is available only for certain engines and hardware configurations. The app shows the current options for the connected vehicle.

Do all vehicles produce the same power on a stage?

No. Output depends on the engine, generation, fuel, map version, hardware, vehicle condition and environmental conditions. Review the relevant Engine or Vehicle Page for platform-specific figures.

Do I need a Flashing License?

Yes. A valid VIN-locked Flashing License is required before flashing an OTS map. The OTS map or available map pack is purchased for that supported vehicle.

Can I switch between purchased maps?

You can repeatedly flash maps purchased for the assigned vehicle. On compatible configurations, Switchable Maps may also provide valid On-The-Fly slots without performing a full reflash.

Can I return the vehicle to stock?

Yes. The original calibration is stored with license activation and remains available through the supported Stock workflow in the app.

How are OTS maps updated?

The app synchronises available files while connected to the internet. If an update is available for a purchased map, the current file can be downloaded before flashing.

What is the difference between OTS Maps and Custom Flash?

OTS maps are prepared for defined supported configurations. Custom Flash is used for a calibration created individually by an independent tuner for a specific vehicle and modification list.
